Is Claude good for cover letters?

The draft is supposed to use your CV and this job’s stated needs, with keywords you can check on the letter page. Read every claim before you send.

Do I still need to edit the letter?

Yes. You stay the editor. Generate a draft, revise it, or regenerate with feedback. Coverlttr should not invent qualifications. If a generation does, edit or report it.

Can I use Claude with Coverlttr?

Yes. Coverlttr exposes an MCP server so Claude can work with your account: list uploaded resumes, generate or regenerate a letter, apply a template, and export. Does this beat the ATS?

No. We do not know an employer’s screening configuration, and a cover letter is not a promise that software will rank you. Application-ready here means a readable structure, the role’s language where your CV supports it, and PDF or Word exports—not ATS-proof or a bypass.
